ANGRY WORKERS EXPRESSED THEIR DISPLEASURE OVER FOURTEEN MONTHS SALARY ARREARS


Angry workers of J. Stanley Owusu & Company at the Land filth Site at Kuwait, a suburb of Asokwa Municipal in Kumasi in the Ashanti region has finally aired out their displeasure about their fourteen months arrears and unlawful takeover of the Land Filth Site.

According to them, the takeover of the Land Filth Site management by the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) from J. Stanley Owusu & Company has resulted poor management and misappropriate of funds that led to the locked up of their salary arrears.

The workers of J. Stanley Owusu & Company, who are working at the Land Filth Site are calling on the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah and the Chief Executive Officer of the Kumasi metropolitan, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi to settle them the unpaid overdue debt owed them or they advice themselves because it is due to the unlawful takeover of the Land Filth Site management without settling the company that is why the company is unable to pay its workers.

The poor management of the  filth site has led to  unbearable stench all over the community in recent times which can easily lead to cholera or malaria outbreak if care is not taking.

J.Owusu & Company is a Waste Management company. The company was established and managed by Mr. J. Stanley Owusu the Chief Executive Officer of the company. The company is said to have operated at the Land Filth Site for the past twenty years which has really create good impact in the management of sanitation in the Kumasi metropolis and its environs.

Some of the workers also complained about how the new management (KMA) threats them by denying them from working but rather employing or recruiting new workers to the filth site. This information was gathered by Damak Sanitation Watch and Health News Reporter,  Akgri M. Daniel during the recent demonstration the entire community embarked on in few months ago  about the unlawful takeover and poor management of the Land filth Site.

They said plans has been laid down and will be soon put into action if by the 20th of May, 2019, they did not hear any good news from the city authorities concerning their call.

Although, the CEO of J. Stanley Owusu & Company, Mr. Owusu is doing all he can, they believe the authorities will hear their call and it take into a consideration.

"We want KMA to settle J. Stanley Owusu & Company in order to enable it pay us our twelve months arrears". They cried out.
